Breath as an Anchor: Mindfulness Drop-In Sessions
Mon 21 Jan 2019 @ 1:00 PM - Mon 18 Mar 2019 @ 2:00 PM
An event every 2 weeks that begins at 1:00pm on Monday, repeating until Mon 11 Mar 2019
If you can’t commit to our Mindfulness course, why not come along to our drop-in workshops?
Whilst our body is reliably in the present, the mind can be off in memories of the past or fantasies of the future. By bringing awareness to our breath and using it as an anchor during times of stress and anxiety, we can begin to retrain ourselves to become less caught up in the habit of following our thoughts and emotions. We can learn to find an awareness of the present and develop a less autopilot state of mind to engage fully with what is happening in our lives.
The aim of Mindfulness is to increase our awareness so that we can be proactive to situations and respond with choice rather than be reactive. We can do this by bringing our attention back to the body through the breath, anchoring us to the present.
Alternate Wednesdays, 1-3pm, in our gallery ‘Breathing Space’. No booking necessary.
